This edition shows how embargoes hinder the development of the Brazilian Space Program.
In the video, the Director of Research and Development at Opto Space & Defense (formerly OPTO Eletrônica) Mario Antonio Stefani gives an account of the boycotts suffered by the company during the development of the multispectral camera (MUX camera) used in Brazilian satellites. The equipment, which was developed for the CBERS and Amazonia family of satellites, was boycotted by the American government during the development process.
The project received several interferences and all of them were documented with the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The United States embargo against projects of the Brazilian Space Program results in delays in their schedules, the boycotted components have to be developed nationally "from scratch". In addition to the delay in the development of the projects, the boycott makes Brazilian contracted companies suffer official sanctions from the Brazilian government (the American embargo is also an economic embargo), since there is no regulation designed by companies that participate in high technological risk projects.
Many Brazilian industries that are part of the Industrial Defense Base are suppliers of the Brazilian Space Program, AVIBRAS has a large participation in the sounding rocket program, such as VSB-30, which is launched from the Alcântara base. OPTO Space & Defense (formerly OPTO Eletronica) is part of the AKAER Group and is responsible for many components of Brazil's satellites, in the video it is specifically talked about the MUX camera, a camera that is embedded in the CBERS 4A and Amazonia 1 satellites.
The Amazonia-1 satellite was recently launched and, according to IMPE, it already generates images for the application of remote sensing. As Brazil (Brazilian Space Program 2021) does not yet have a satellite launching rocket, the launch was carried out by India.

EMBRAER, through its subsidiary EmbraerX, develops an innovative concept of urban mobility through eVTOLs, electric vehicles for takeoff and vertical landing. Brazilian industry developing high technology.
A promotional video released on 03/23/2021 on Embraer's social networks showed for the first time the manufacturer's eVTOL in flight. The action promotes Eve Air Mobility, a division of the Brazilian company focused on urban mobility solutions.
Embraer's electric vertical landing and take-off vehicle (eVTOL) that appears in the images is still a small-scale prototype, but it already provides some interesting details of the aircraft. Note, for example, the presence of 10 propellers distributed on two wings and landing skis.
Embraer has yet to reveal more details about the tests with eVTOL. In July last year, the manufacturer reported that it had conducted the aircraft's first “virtual flight” in a simulator, a step necessary to calibrate the device's controls.
Also known as “flying taxis”, eVTOLs are proposed as a new means of transport in large urban centers.
Uber is the main name in this field with the Uber Air initiative, which has the participation of Embraer and other manufacturers that are developing the aircraft and the necessary structure to operate them. Australia and the USA will be the first countries to have the new transport mode, with services scheduled to start in mid-2023.

See the launch of the MTC 300, the Brazilian cruise tactical missile manufactured by AVIBRAS with national technology.
The MTC 300 missile, formerly called the AV TM 300, is part of the ASTROS 2020 system, an innovative artillery system manufactured by the national industry AVIBRAS in partnership with the Brazilian army.
As a comparison, we can call this the missile "Brazilian tomahawk", it is a tactical missile with Brazilian technology with a range of 300 km (it can have versions of greater range depending on the Warhead or the turbine technology) and 10 m of precision.
In this edition it is possible to see a launch of the missile MTC 300, a demonstration of the detonation of 500Kg of TNT (a destruction similar to 200Kg of explosive of the warhead of the missile) and launches of the tomahawk missile.

Brazilian Nuclear Submarine - Why so long? | Brazilian Navy | PROSUB ( Subtitled )
The idea of providing the Brazilian Navy with a Brazilian Nuclear Submarine began to be considered in the 1970s and evolved in a more practical way between 1976 and 1978 with the Brazilian nuclear program (nuclear navy program).
In this edition, Vice Admiral and Naval Engineer Elcio de Sá Freitas explains the steps of the Brazilian nuclear program and the reasons for the development to take so long.
There were three basic points that should be overcome. The first dealt with the domain of the nuclear fuel cycle (ZARCÃO and CICLONE projects). Second, Brazil would have to design and develop a nuclear reactor (REMO project) sufficiently compact for a submarine hull. The country also needed to design and build a submarine hull (COSTADO project) to receive the reactor under development.
At the time, it was a very big challenge for a country that had never built if it wants a conventional submarine and was in the middle of nuclear agreements with Germany. More than 40 years later, the Brazilian nuclear submarine program has won the title of the longest program in the Brazilian armed forces.
Brazil has the ambition to build its first nuclear submarine, to accelerate development a partnership was made with France, PROSUB (Submarine Development Program). The agreement signed in 2008 provides for the transfer of technology for the design and construction of submarines.

This edition presents three embargoes suffered by the Brazilian Nuclear Program (nuclear program of the Brazilian Navy).
During the holding of the XI National Meeting of Strategic Studies (XI ENEE), on November 17, 2011, at the Naval School in Rio de Janeiro, Vice Admiral Carlos Passos Bezerril presented some embargoes suffered by the Brazilian Nuclear Program.
The Brazilian nuclear program is developed by the Brazilian Navy, it is a "dual" program, reaching both the civil sphere with nuclear plants and the military sphere with the development of the Brazilian nuclear submarine.
Brazil made a technology transfer agreement with France that covers only the conventional part, the development of Brazil's nuclear submarine is outside the agreement (the nuclear technology part).
This video shows three United States embargo (American embargo), two regarding carbon fiber and one regarding microcontrollers. To avoid the American embargo, we need to develop national technology, through the Brazilian industry (industrial defense base, Brazilian defense industry, national defense industry) to produce "dual" products for civil and military use.
The technological embargo is also an economic embargo since carbon fiber technologies are "dual", both for civilian and military use.
